Yealmpton and Brixton Community Friendship Project - November 2026 Newsletter

Happy November Everyone!

As we head into the darker winter months, those of us who live alone may begin to feel lonely or isolated. Perhaps you have a relative, friend or neighbour who would benefit from regular companionship, a listening ear, gentle encouragement, and the reassurance of knowing that someone cares.

The Yealmpton and Brixton Community Friendship Project is a Free service, has volunteers from all walks of life who are trained, DBS checked, and ready to offer support and companionship.

Sadly, due to a lack of support, from the end of October we will no longer be able to offer our Friday morning Parent and Carer Drop-In sessions.

Building friendships and reducing isolation remain at the heart of what we do. We would welcome any suggestions from our community about other ways we can help people connect, support one another, and develop a stronger sense of belonging.

If you feel you would benefit from one-to-one befriending, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the details below. I will be delighted to discuss how we may be able to help. Alternatively, you are very welcome to drop into the Community Centre on Tuesday or Friday mornings for a chat.
